How Much Do Timeshare Points Sell For?

Short answer

Timeshare points sell for wildly different amounts depending on the program — from about 0.4¢ per point at the bottom (Capital Vacations) to $13–$19 per point at the top (Disney Vacation Club). These are secondary-market rental rates: what one year of points earns when rented out, not what the underlying contract sells for. A buyer service pays you a bit below the full rental value because it takes on the booking and rental risk. The table below shows every major program.

Secondary-market rental value per point, highest to lowest. Peak weeks at high-demand resorts hit the top of each range; off-season weeks at lower-demand properties hit the bottom.

Per point vs. total cash — don't mix them up

The per-point number is only half the answer. A DVC point is worth roughly 100× a Capital Vacations point — but Capital Vacations owners hold tens of times more points. Once you multiply your allocation by the per-point rate, most programs land in the four figures of annual rental value, so the gap in actual dollars is far smaller than the per-point ratio suggests.

That's why the only number that matters for your wallet is your point count times your program's rate, in the seasons and resorts you can actually book. Run it in the calculator, or see the full ranking of which points are worth the most.

Frequently asked questions

How much do timeshare points sell for per point?

Per-point rental value ranges from about 0.4¢ (Westgate) to $13–$19 (Disney Vacation Club) in 2026. Marriott Vacation Club lands around 35¢–90¢, Diamond 8¢–18¢, WorldMark 7¢–14¢, and Vistana StarOptions 2.5¢–5.5¢. Volume programs like Club Wyndham, Bluegreen, and Westgate are fractions of a cent per point.

Why are some timeshare points worth so much more than others?

It comes down to property quality, point-chart design, and supply. Premium programs (Disney, Marriott, Diamond, WorldMark) price stays at fewer points per night in high-demand markets, so each point is scarce and valuable. Volume programs issue points by the hundreds of thousands, so each individual point is worth a fraction of a cent. A Disney point and a Westgate point are not comparable units.

Do points sell for the same as the timeshare contract?

No — these are two different numbers. Per-point value is what a year of points earns when rented out. Contract resale value is what the whole deeded ownership sells for, which is usually $0–$2,500 for legacy programs due to oversupply. Disney Vacation Club is the exception: its contracts resell for thousands. Many owners earn more by renting their points each year than they would ever recover by selling the contract.

How do I find out exactly what my points sell for?

Run your program and point count through the calculator for a rough range, then get an actual offer. The calculator is a starting estimate; the real cash number depends on your specific resorts, seasons, and point volume, which only a quote can price.
